Tributes paid to Stephen Gately

Stephen Gately of Irish band Boyzone has been found dead while on holiday in Majorca. Tributes have been paid by people who knew him.
The sudden death of the 33-year-old has shocked fans and music industry figures.
Gately was on holiday with his partner Andrew Cowles. It is thought that they had gone out for drinks, then Gately had fallen asleep when he returned home and failed to wake up.
The rest of the band are travelling to Majorca on Sunday.
GATELY'S AGENT
A statement from Caroline de Wolfe and Rosemary Reed, of Agents Back Door Management, said: "Stephen was a very talented and much loved client and it was our great pleasure to work with him and our thoughts and condolences are extended to his loved ones at this very distressing time.
Stephen was both in and out of the spotlight a genuine, funny and very charismatic man

"We are shocked and saddened that he is no longer with us and had such a short life as he had much more to give.
"Stephen was both in and out of the spotlight a genuine, funny and very charismatic man who was a joy to spend time with and it was a privilege to know him.
"He retained that rare quality of being humble despite his fame and this endeared him to those he worked with."
FORMER IRISH TAIOSEACH BERTIE AHERN
"It's such a tragedy. Boyzone and Stephen Gately have been part of Irish life and far wider than that for 15 years and with such success. It's a huge, huge tragedy, he was only 33."
His death was a huge loss to Irish music and entertainment, Mr Ahern added.
BOYZONE MANAGER LOUIS WALSH
"I'm in complete shock. I was only with him on Monday at an awards ceremony. We don't know much about what's happened yet.
"I only heard after The X Factor and we will rally around each other this week. He was a great man."
BROADCASTER EMMA FORBES
"A sweeter man I've never met. He was just the loveliest guy and I am truly saddened. Such a young age, such a great talent, a divine person.
"He had a beautiful voice and a really lovely personality. Whenever I met him it was a total joy to interview him."
MUSIC JOURNALIST PAUL GAMBACCINI
"He's a performer with the word 'boy' in his professional title and boys aren't supposed to die.
"This is way too soon and way too unspecific for us to feel that this is at all the right thing to happen.
"This is a very sad thing on a personal level and a professional level."
BROADCASTER STEPHEN FRY
Writing on the micro-blogging website Twitter, he said: "Just heard the very sad news about dear Stephen Gately. What a dreadful shock. He was loveable and sweet-natured and will be hugely missed."
BBC RADIO 1'S FEARNE COTTON
