Separation Of Frank And Jamie McCourt Spells Trouble for Dodgers

By Madhuri Dey
dodgersOct. 15 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Dodgers owners Frank and Jamie McCourt have decided to call off their marriage, resulting in possible dire conditions for the team.
The couple who were voted the ‘power couple of the year’ in 2008, have decided to split for good following a thirty year long marriage. The reason, however, is a well kept secret as the couple and their lawyers refused to divulge any details regarding the unprecedented split. Nevertheless, it does explain and is a natural consequence to the long-standing palpable tension between the couple. They were reportedly not sitting together, but in different rows altogether during matches in the last season of the team. However, they are in a phase of separation and haven’t filed a divorce, according to Frank’s attorney, Marshall Grossman. There are speculations about the fate of the team following the divorce of the Chief Executive Officer and the Chairman, Jamie being the latter. She was promoted from the post of president and vice-chairman of the team.
The divorce may spell serious consequence for the team. They are preparing for the National League Championship Series against the Philadelphia Phillies. The fate of the team lies entirely at the hand of the Dodgers owners. Jamie’s lawyer was immediately not available for comment. It was reported that as for now, no changes have been made in the hierarchy of the team. Jamie continues to be the Chairman of the team. It may, however, be subject to change. Sources reported that there couldn’t arise any dispute regarding the ownership of the team as Frank is registered as the same. Nor is there any question of selling the team.
