TD Bank issues persist into second day

A widespread service outage at TD Bank is well documented as angry customers vent on Twitter and blogs.

Problems that began yesterday with transactions posting to and from accounts have been causing severe cash flow issues for customers, and the frustration has been further compounded by an overburdened phone system. (Some customers have recommended reaching the bank by calling 207-755-6021, which is listed on the bank’s website as a valid contact number.) TD believes the outage is related to integration with Commerce Bank, which TD acquired last year. As of today, issues have not fully resolved and some angry customers have been stranded without access to their cash.

TD Bank released a statement about the outage, promising to reverse fees incurred during the banking outage:

“Unfortunately, we experienced an unusual delay in our overnight batch posting again last evening. All postings are up to date as of Wednesday evening but now we are having an issue with last night’s batch posting. We are working nonstop to resolve this issue. We are sorry about the inconvenience and we thank our customers for their patience and understanding.

“Currently customers can see account balances as of Wednesday evening. We expect to complete our transaction processing and have current account balances later today. We will reverse fees, charges, or interest incurred as a result of this disruption. We are working to solve the problem as soon as we can. We have empowered our employees to work with customers individually to resolve any outstanding issues that arose as a result of this delay. We continue to operate on full tilt to get this resolved.” Source inquisitr.com/
