Two monkeys and the cast from upcoming Adam Sandler film The Zookeeper were evacuated from a Boston hotel after carbon monoxide alarms went off.
Crew members were also among the 300 guests that fled the Liberty Hotel after elevated levels of the highly toxic gas were detected.
Investigators said the problem was caused by a small boiler leak.
A spokesman for the hotel declined to name which cast members were evacuated. No injuries were reported.
Fire Department spokesman Steve MacDonald said the leak prompted elevated readings of carbon monoxide which were detected in hallways, rooms, and stairwells at around 0930 local time.
He added the hotel's ventilation system circulated the gas throughout the building.
The leak was fixed early afternoon when guests were able to return to their rooms.
Federal investigation
The incident is the latest in bizarre mishaps to hit the comedy film which also stars Paul Blart: Mall Cop actor Kevin James.
Last week, Tweet - an 18-year-old giraffe - collapsed and died shortly after completing his final scene in the movie being filmed at Boston's Franklin Park Zoo.
It has triggered a federal case, as investigators probe a complaint that the animal gnawed on toxic tarp covering his Boston pen.
And earlier this month, 27-year-old Arnold Milfort was badly injured when he snuck onto the movie set and fell 30ft (9.1m) into the zoo's gorilla pen.
The Zookeeper features James as an unlucky in love zookeeper whose animals break their code of silence to help him gain the attention of one particular woman.
The film is scheduled for release in October 2010 with Adam Sandler, Sylvester Stallone and Cher providing the voices.
