With a brand versus brand Pay-per-View coming up, I fully expect to see Smackdown! cross-over on this show. And Snoop Dog takes the reigns as guest host from Jacksonville, Florida.
Snoop arrives in style, rolling with the Bella Twins and Eve. Snoop professes his fandom for WWE and RAW, and that tonight is all business. RAW will embarrass Smackdown! Snoop then runs down the card. John Cena will take on HHH, Randy Orton will face Ted DiBiase, and Shawn Michaels fights Chris Jericho. Snoop then calls on DX.
Hunter addresses the crowd, and then brings out team RAW. But first, Hunter runs down Team Smackdown! Chris Jericho; beaten down multiple times by both members of DX. Kane; HHH once had a fling with his ex. Cryme Tyme; they sell Smackdown tickets in the parking lot. Dolph Ziggler; this guy doesn’t remember who he is. And Hunter doesn’t even know the last two guys. (It’s Drew McIntyre and Eric Escobar. Um, who?)
Team RAW finally makes their entrance, and some of these guys don’t like each other. HBK talks up his team, except for Cody Rhodes, who is just ignored. Rhodes grabs the microphone. Hunter shoots him down. Cody says they are captains in name only. He should be the captain based on talent. Cody says he may just beat Smackdown all by himself. Big Show demands respect, and won’t let Cody let the team down. Mark Henry gets in Show’s face. Swagger steps between the two, and says he is more athletic than both of them. Kofi Kingston is the voice of reason, telling the guys they need to get on the same page. Hunter wants to know what happened to Kofi’s accent. Shawn says he knew this would happen, so they put together a five on five match. And if one of them gets pinned, they are off the team.
Match #1 – Big Show, Kofi Kingston, Cody Rhodes, Jack Swagger and Mark Henry vs. MVP, Chavo Guerrero, Primo, Evan Bourne, and Chris Masters
After the commercials, Kofi hits Chavo with a back body drop, and then mounted punches in the corner. Mark Henry and Big Show make blind tags, but Cody also tags himself in. Evan Bourne connects with a cross body off the ropes, but Cody rolls through. Primo gets the tag, and hits a series of clotheslines. Cody grabs the ropes to avoid a drop kick, and then hits Cross Rhodes. Swagger tags himself in, and covers to get the win.
Winner via pinfall: Big Show, Kofi Kingston, Cody Rhodes, Jack Swagger and Mark Henry
After the match, Team Raw turns on each other. Show spears Mark Henry and walks off.
Josh Matthews interviews Ted Dibiase, about what happened last week with Randy Orton. The champ interrupts. Ted says he did the same thing Randy would have done. Orton tells Ted to listen up, he will not lift a finger in their match. And there might be a chance he won’t be thrown out of Legacy.
Match #2 – Ted DiBiase vs. Randy Orton
Ted takes Orton’s words to heart, and stands in the middle of the ring and takes a beating. DiBiase wants to fight back but doesn’t. Orton pushes him away, trying to elicit a reaction. Ted knocks Orton down with a shoulder, after being pushed off the ropes. The champ gets to his feet, and hits an RKO to end the match.
Winner via pinfall: Randy Orton
Snoop Dog gives us a sneak peak at his new video. Snoop is rocking out in the back with the twins and Eve. Hornswoggle walks in still wearing DX gear. Chavo tells the little guy DX will never take him seriously. Chavo then asks Snoop for a chance to be on Team Raw. Jillian drops in and wants a Diva title rematch. Santino crashes the party, dressed as Charlie Brown. Snoop tells them all to get out, and he wants his bag. RAW experiences some technical difficulties, as Snoop blazes up his stash of … scented candles.
Match #3 – John Cena vs. Triple H
Cena and Hunter lock up, and trade various grapples. Cena counters hip toss, getting a two count. Cena slaps on a top wrist lock. Hunter breaks the hold, and then explodes out of the corner with a clothesline. Cena counters a Pedigree and whips HHH out of the ring. And we go to commercial
After the break, Hunter drives a knee into Cena’s side, and then drives him into the corner. Cena fights back, but Hunter ducks the shoulder block. Cena is then dropped with a chop block. Cena side steps another attempt, but cannot lock in the STF. Cena hits a German suplex, and then goes for a bulldog. Hunter blocks it, and goes for the Pedigree. Cena counters into the STF. The Game fights and finally gets to the ropes. Hunter hits a Pedigree, and covers. Cena gets a foot on the ropes. And we go to another commercial.
After the break, Cena tries for the Attitude Adjustment, but HHH counters into a Sharpshooter. Cena is able to get to the ropes. HHH runs into a boot, and Cena connects with a shoulder and then a side walk slam. Cena hits the five-knuckle shuffle, but Hunter fights of the AA. Cena is whipped off the ropes, and Hunter connects with the high knee, and then a spine buster. HHH hits another Pedigree, but Cena kicks out at two. Cena hits the Attitude Adjustment, and HHH kicks out of the pin. Cena climbs to the top turnbuckle, but crashes and burns on the leg drop. Hunter hits a third Pedigree, and covers. HHH finally gets the three count for the win.
Winner via pinfall: Triple H
After the match, Hunter helps Cena to his feet in a show of respect. (I’m thinking this really is Cena’s last match on RAW for a while.)
Match #4 – The Miz vs. random jobber
Snoop stops the show, because he isn’t happy The Miz was running down Marty Jannetty, so he will take on Marty.
Match #4 – The Miz vs. Marty Jannetty
The Miz forces Jannetty into the corner. Jannetty ducks a clothesline, but can’t get out of the way of another. The Miz slaps on a rear chin lock. Jannetty breaks the hold with a suplex. Marty hits a high elbow and then a back body drop. Jannetty follows with a fist drop off the top turnbuckle. The Miz kicks out at two. The Miz catches Jannetty and hits the Skull Crushing Finale and gets the pin.
Winner via pinfall: The Miz
Match #5 – Melina vs. Jillian Hall w/ Chavo – Diva Title Match
Melina successfully defends her title with a leg lariat and little help from a gangsta Hornswoggle.
Winner via pinfall: Melina
After the match, Chavo grabs the little guy, but Snoop runs in to make the save. Chavo isn’t intimidated, as the circle each other. Snoop ducks a punch and spears Chavo. The Divas hit the ring to dance with Snoop.
Match #6 – Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho
Jericho grabs a microphone, telling HBK he could knock him out right now, but he won’t. Smackdown has the advantage with him as captain. Cryme Tyme joins Jericho by coming through the crowd, along with the rest of Team Smackdown!
HBK isn’t alone, as Hunter brings down the rest of Team RAW, and all 14 men get in the ring. Hunters thanks Jericho for bringing his team together. Vicki Guerrero interrupts, telling Team Smackdown! to leave. Hunter doesn’t work for her, and we go to black as all 14 men start to fight.
