By Gina Gomez
carminaOct. 17, (THAINDIAN NEWS) After the book on her life hit the stores in the earlier half of this month, people have been extremely interested to get to know a lot more about the life of Carmina Salcido. In “Not Lost Forever,” Carmina has sat down with Steve Jackson [who has co-authored the book] and divulged all the intricate details of her life. After the book released, she has received immense requests from fans to make an appearance in television interviews.
Which was the reason that she was seen on ABC News’ 20/20 program on the night of Friday, Oct. 16 at 10 p.m. It is known by now that her book has scaled the charts of popularity ever since it made its debut in to the scene. The nearly 300 pages book has already become the No. 1 selling non-fiction in Copperfield.
Carmina Salcido was the only of Ramon Salcido’s victims who had survived the fatal stabs of the knife in 1989. Ramon, her father and a vineyard worker, has been convicted of the charges of brutally murdering as many as seven people, six of whom were the members of his family and as of 2007, is on the death row. He had also slit Carmina’s [then 3 years of age] throat but she had luckily escaped death due to the intense effort of the doctors and nurses, who had toiled to save her.
She had been dumped in a garbage dump along with her two other sisters and mother. It was after a massive ordeal of nearly 36 hours that she had been rescued and had miraculously survived. Now, at 23, she has chosen to tell her tragic tale to the world.
