Ted Williams’ frozen head disrespected at Alcor Life Extension facility

The frozen, severed head of Ted Williams has apparently not been treated with dignity, reports a former executive of the Alcor Life Extension Foundation.

In a new book called Frozen, author and former Alcor exec Larry Johnson claims a technician took “baseball-like swings” at Williams’ frozen head with a monkey wrench. Johnson wrote the book in 2003 in hiding, after becoming a whistleblower. Prior to that, Johnson was CEO of Alcor for eight months. In the last three months of his employment, Johnson “wired” himself before work, stole internal documents and photographed bodies.

Williams’ cryogenic freezing made headlines after his death, when his children argued in court over the fate of their father’s remains. Daughter Bobby Jo Williams Ferrell argued that Williams had wished to be cremated, whereas son John Henry Williams argued to have Williams’ severed head frozen, presumably after watching one too many episodes of Futurama. Ferrell dropped her objections, allowing Williams to be frozen, and in 2004, John Henry died of leukemia at the age of 35. Reportedly, he was also frozen by Alcor. Source inquisitr.com
