Kyle Boller sparks Rams

Backup quarterback Kyle Boller led the St. Louis Rams on two long touchdown drives in second quarter after replacing an injured Marc Bulger.

The Rams trailed 23-20 in the third quarter.

Boller was off the mark on his first four pass attempts, but then completed eight of his nine passes. He helped engineer a 10-play, 78-yard touchdown and a nine-play, 84-yard touchdown drive.

Boller fired up the Rams' sideline by making a block on a 4-yard run by Jackson on the first touchdown drive.

Both drives were capped with touchdown passes to tight end Daniel Fells.

The second pass to Fells came with two seconds left in the first half.

Boller guided the Rams on a 46-yard drive that resulted in a 53-yard field goal by Josh Brown with 8:23 left in the third quarter.

Rams wide receiver Laurent Robinson left the game after spraining an ankle on a run by Steven Jackson in the second quarter.

Jackson was tripped, and he fell into Robinson, whose return is questionable.
